Abstrakt
This article presents Mediation Project Days, designed to support the implementation of medi-
ation in language learning at grammar schools. The goals of the didactic concept as well as the contents and the course of individual sequences of the project days are described. In addition, the paper provides results from learner feedback collected from 86 learners of German as a foreign language at Czech grammar schools, which was collected, coded, and evaluated with the help of reflection sheets. From the thematic analysis it is apparent that the learners found the mediation tasks they worked on during the project days meaningful and useful for their everyday lives. They were able to take on different roles and deal with communication from diverse perspectives, with the role of the mediator being described as the most exciting and enjoyable. The concept of the project days prove to be an innovative and a dynamic way to support the development of plurilingualism, pluriculturalism and language awareness among secondary school learners who, through the mediation tasks, became aware of their own plurilingual repertoire as well as strategies to work with it.
